The ProgramPlayer SelectionConsistent with our Organization’s Vision, each Mustang team will be comprised of only the Premiere players from throughout Manitoba. This will be accomplished through a selection process that will have the Age Directors at the respective Age Categories carefully scout, rate and assess players, and then actively pursue them to be Mustangs. When a player commits, the parent will be required to “lock in” to the Mustangs with a financial commitment of $200. |
| The Cost |
|
The costs of the Mustang summer program varies based on the program offered, not including coach expenses or tournaments. The cost of the Mustang registration includes: 2 pair of socks, 20 hours of practice ice, a track suits, a T-shirt, 2 game jerseys (players keep both), 2 - coaches tracksuits, and insurance. Of course travel costs for the player and parents are not included. There are 3 installment payments: At the end of the summer season each team’s expenses are reconciled against actual expenses. What this means is each team pays only for what they ordered or used. Refunds are submitted back to teams if they overpaid to the Mustangs. Coaches expenses are dependent on Tournament location. Expenses for Vancouver would be estimated at $100.00 per player. The coaches expenses are fixed: Travel expenses are .25 per km. (or the cost of a minimum airfare, whichever is less); a single occupancy hotel room for the duration of the teams participation in the tournament; and a per day meal allowance of $30 per coach. It is acceptable, dependent on Tournament location, to allow an additional day of expenses to allow for travel time to the Tournament. When coaches fly, low fare tickets are purchased which restricts the return date to the final day of the Tournament. It is expected that coaches who choose to drive to a Tournament, would leave the Tournament location if the team is defeated out of the tournament. The coach will be allowed expenses until they reach their home destination. The only exception to this, is situations like Vancouver, where the Executive Board expects the coaching staff to fly, and the coaches choose to take a vehicle.
